Skin Care New Years Resolution List

Right now a lot of people are making their New Year’s Resolution and it can be a great idea when you’re planning to achieve a goal. This year, if you’re planning to feel and look younger longer,
then you should come up with your very own skin care and face care resolutions list. Here are a couple of examples and tips of skin care resolutions that can get your list started.

Clean Your Makeup Kit –

Those things touch your face everyday and it doesn’t bother you? Yes, we’re talking about your brushes. You might not be aware of it, but all the skin oils that build up on your makeup kit, specifically on your brushes, create a breeding ground for bacteria that can easily irritate your skin. Ideally, you should clean your brushes every week. Realistically, however, you should clean your brushes at least once a month with baby shampoo and lukewarm water.

Apply Sunscreen Everyday –

Doctors advise wearing sunscreen daily – even on cloudy days and when staying indoors. The problem is most sunscreen products don’t blend well with day-to-day life when mixed with makeup and other facial products. The solution is to find a product that you feel comfortable using and doesn’t make your face look like it’s melting. A quick tip? Look for the words “sheer” or “non-greasy” on the label.

Go and Have Your Moles Checked –

If you didn’t normally make it a point to have your dermatologists take a look at your moles, then you should make this New Year different. In the US, the cases of melanoma are increasing faster than any other cancer. Make sure to get a full body check this year. This simple New Year’s resolution can help in early detection, and just might save your life.

Don’t Forget to Moisturize –

Water, especially warm water, strips your skin of oils. Body lotions and face creams are a great way of moisturizing your skin. And if you’ve been neglecting applying moisturizers after a warm bath and (egads!) after you wash your face, then it’s high time you paid attention to properly moisturizing your skin. Make sure to add this to your New Year’s resolution list!

Get Back to the Basics –

Speaking of moisturizing, it’s probably a good idea to get back to the basics of skin care. Not just because you might have forgotten the all-important cleanse-tone-moisturize routine, but because the all-important cleanse-tone-moisturize routine is exactly that: important. This year, make this basic routine a daily skin care habit of yours.

Smile! –

Okay. No amount of skin care products and anti aging regimen can make your skin glow and stand out more than the simple act of smiling. That’s why you should make this year a happy and smile-filled year. If last year was a bit difficult, there’s no reason in the world why you should let last year’s problems etch ugly “worry grooves” on your face. Keep in mind that smiling doesn’t just look good on you, it feels good too. So spread the positive vibes and watch as others return the favor.

The six tips given above can start a good New Year’s Resolution list for taking great care of your skin. But keep in mind that a New Year’s resolution will only succeed if you do it religiously. So do you and your skin a favor and stick to your resolutions.
