Easy Ways to Reduce Wrinkles Part 1

Reducing or preventing wrinkles – those dreaded signs of aging – is a constant battle.  Here are some surprisingly easy ways to help you win the fight and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

1. Sleep on Your Back –

You might not be aware of it but sleeping in certain positions, especially night after night, results in wrinkles or sleep lines on your face. Love sleeping on your side? That favorite beauty sleep position of yours can lead to wrinkles on your cheeks. Sleeping face down, on the other hand, leaves you with a furrowed brow. Worse, the wrinkles that your sheets, pillow or gravity etch on the top layers of your skin don’t go away when you get up.

The solution? Sleep on your back. Not only is it more relaxing, it will also help you cut down on new wrinkles.

2. Eat More Fish –

Fish, especially Salmon, are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids. Experts agree and have proven that these healthy acids help nourish the skin, keeping it plump and youthful. The final result? Less wrinkles.

3. Get Reading Glasses –

Unconsciously squinting because your eyes are having a hard time focusing on your book or computer screen overworks the facial muscles around the eyes and on your forehead. Spend long hours doing it and you’ll form a groove in your skin that will soon become a wrinkle. If you need them, it’s a great idea to get reading glasses. Lots of new designs also means that you can choose one that will help you look younger as well.

4. Love (and Use) Sunglasses –

Not only do the right sunglasses help you look fantastic, they also do a great job of protecting the areas around your eyes from the harsh UV rays of the sun. Remember that the skin around your eyes is pretty sensitive. Protect yourself by getting a good pair of sunglasses. Less UV rays, means less skin damage, equals less wrinkles.

5. Don’t Over-Wash –

Okay, so here’s one reason why you shouldn’t get too comfortable with washing your face too often. Washing too much with tap water and harsh soap can actually wash away your skin’s protection. Tap water washes away moisture (yep, tap water washes away moisture from your face!) and the natural oils that help keep pimples away. The solution? Practice the right face care regimen and substitute your soap with a facial cleanser (either a gel or cream) instead.
