We all love sunglasses (they’re great accessories that add that all-important sun protection factor into your wardrobe) but it can be really frustrating trying to find the style that’s best for your type of face. There’s an easier way to go about choosing sunglasses though and it starts with knowing the shape of your face.
There are five types of faces: round, square, oval, heart, and oblong; and there are styles of sunglasses that go – and don’t go – with each type of face. Once you learn this, it’s going to be a lot easier choosing the perfect pair of sunglasses.
Are wide at the forehead and narrow at the chin. Sunglasses that go well with this shape are round and oversized lenses. These style of sunglasses removes the illusion of width from your forehead. Cat-eye styles of sunglasses are the most flattering for this kind of face.
Square Shaped Faces –
The strong features (jaws and forehead) of this type of face need to be softened. Choose sunglasses that are either rounder or more angular in shape.
Oblong Shaped Faces –
If your face is an oblong shape, you need sunglasses that will help add the illusion of width. Choose sunglasses that are oversized and create a strong horizontal line across your face.
Oval Shaped Faces –
If you have an oval shaped face, you’re one of the lucky ones. You can wear almost any type of sunglasses and you’re still going to look good.
Round Shaped Faces –
Since your face is already round shaped, you need to add some straight lines and angles to your features. Go play with rectangular frames or geometric shapes.
Wearing sunglasses outdoors saves you from squinting because of the sun’s glare and shields the skin around your eyes. By choosing the best pair for your type of face, you can be both fabulous and protected from sun damage to your face.
